This project explores and documents Ireland’s offshore islands.Having researched the history, landscape, demographics, and topography of the islands over the last few years, I painted them, as seen from the mainland, trying to capture their essence.

 The project will consist of framed paintings, oil on board, of up to 55 islands. It will be accompanied by a high-quality 130 page, Irish-published, bilingual book art-book, with photos of the paintings and texts about the island, with essays by informed writers, including Diarmaid Ferriter. Texts will give short account of each island, the current state and some anecdotes associated with life on each island. Texts will be in English and Irish.
